Supported SCM/VCS commands

Bugify can perform actions on your issues based on the content of your commit messages. Actions are run by specifying a command word before the ticket number (e.g., fixes #123). The command can be anywhere in your commit message.

There are 3 actions that can be run:

  1. Reference an issue.
  2. Resolve an issue.
  3. Re-open an issue.

You can run multiple actions in the same commit message - just put the command word before each issue number.

Reference an issue

All ticket numbers found in the commit message will run the reference action - the commit message will be added to all the tickets. You don't actually need to use a reference command message to simply reference an issue, but the following commands are supported nonetheless:

  • ref
  • refs

  • see
  • addresses

e.g., #123 - Fixed an issue with utf8 characters or Fixed an issue with utf8 characters, see #123

Resolve an issue

Issues can be marked as resolved by using one of the following command words.

  • close
  • closes
  • closed
  • fix

  • resolve

e.g., Fixed an issue with utf8 characters - closes #123

  • reopen
  • reopens
  • reopening

  • breaks

e.g., Reverting the utf8 change, reopening #123
